Track and Field and Kemmerer High School
Kemmerer, Wyoming
Lincoln School District

EDA provided design and construction administration of post-tensioned eight-lane track, new synthetic turf multi-sports field, track & field competition components, ADA accessible home and visitor
bleachers, press box, concessions and restroom building, site grading and retaining walls, stormwater management, perimeter fencing, night lighting, public address system, and a new parking lot. The geometry and layout of this facility made it possible to accommodate soccer and lacrosse and football, and it is designed in compliance with the WHSSA requirements so that the District can host state and regional tournaments.
The track features compound radius curved ends that make it more comfortable for runners. The track layout improves runner performance through its compound radius and provides a wider infield with a fully functional sideline to accommodate all football field needs. It also includes a full-width soccer field, long jump, high jump, pole vault. Additionally, the compound radius track works efficiently with the existing site grades, significantly reducing the initial development costs.

The design of the artificial turf field and running track facility ensure years of high-quality performance. The post-tensioned track base minimizes the risk of differential settlement, winter frost
heave, and cracking, thereby maintaining a superior running surface that minimizes premature failure of the polyurethane surface. The entire field has an extensive subsurface drainage system to minimize differential settlement and ensure that the track and fields are never waterlogged. An infield irrigation system keeps the field cool during periods of hot weather.
