Farmington Police Station is a facility sized to house approximately 25 to 30 officers and staff serving a community with an anticipated population reaching 30,000 citizens in the next 20 years. The facility includes work stations for investigators and patrol alike, with a suite of offices and conference areas for administration. It also includes a training room which is outfitted to serve as an emergency operation back up facility. Evidence processing and storage areas are included along with a two bay vehicle search area. The facility is supported with back up emergency generator power, a radio tower for communications and an access security system. The 12,000 SF facility is located on a city owned public work site and is situated to serve both the secure parking needs of law enforcement and public parking. The public parking is located to serve as a gate way to the Woodland Park recreational area, and the building is situated in such a way that overflow parking can be accommodated on the site without interfering with police operations.
